Abstract

Nucleosomes not only allow to compact linear DNA into the tiny nucleus of every Eukaryotic cell, but also form a barrier to active processes regulating the genome. Their core is composed of four histone proteins - H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 - wrapped by 146 base pairs of DNA. The composition, stability and position of nucleosomes collectively determine the dynamic accessibility of DNA to epigenetic regulators that control cellular functions.

The presented story will tell the tale of how histone chaperones and nucleosome remodelers collaborate to bind, incorporate and evict histone H3 to control the genome of the plant model species Arabidopsis thaliana.
